In co-founding Aspreva, Mr. Glickman is building on past successes founding major companies including Stressgen Biotechnologies Corp. As Co-founder and CEO he directed the growth of Stressgen from a small startup to a major biotechnology player with a market capitalization over $500 million. He oversaw the development team that took the lead compound (HspE7) through IND to Phase II clinical trials and orphan drug designation. Stressgen subsequently partnered HspE7 with F. Hoffmann-La Roche
Mr. Glickman comes to Aspreva with a solid track record of success in raising significant capital in this industry, and strong business development skills including the ability to build high quality executive management teams, and forge successful partnerships.
Prior to Stressgen, Mr. Glickman was the founder and director of Ontario Molecular Diagnostics, a diagnostic facility that evolved into the largest molecular diagnostic laboratory in Canada. He also co-founded Probtec Corporation, a rational drug design and molecular genetics firm, where, as Vice-president of Corporate Development, he established and introduced the first licensed DNA-based forensic and paternity testing services into Canada. Mr. Glickman received both Canada’s and British Columbia’s Top 40 under 40 Awards for entrepreneurs.
Mr. Glickman has been chair or member of various biotechnology boards, the BC Biotechnology Alliance and the federal Biotechnology Advisory Committee. He is a former director of the Canadian Genetic Diseases Network.
