Brent's career has been focused on developing innovative new products and bringing them to market. He has been the founder and CEO of two technology startups, and has recently been consulting in marketing and business development. At Ontain, he raised $16M in capital and launched the company's payment software in over 1,000 stores at Boston Market and Subway.

At Sonigistix, he raised $8M in capital, negotiated a strategic partnership with Delphi Automotive, and launched the company's first speaker product with Micron PC. Brent has a Masters degree in Applied Science from the University of British Columbia.

With over 10 years of experience in software development, Burchard brings expertise in multimedia, streaming, networking, and distributed systems. Prior to Meridex, Burchard worked as the Director of Engineering at Eyeball Networks Inc.

As a Ph.D in Computer Science (Technical University Berlin, Germany), Burchard held research and teaching positions at Technical University Berlin, has published over twenty publications and was awarded a grant from Cisco Systems on his doctoral thesis on quality-of-service enabled networks.
