Jerome Ryckborst is a usability and user-experience practitioner with a decade of high-tech and software experience and instructs user-interface design at Simon Fraser University, teaching 'Applied User Interface Design: An Introduction.'
Jerome Ryckborst has a science degree from the University of Alberta and a business degree from Webster University. He is a member of Usability Professionals Association, and a past president and senior member of the Society for Technical Communication.
He has extensive experience in the software development process, including application analysis and interaction design for graphical user interfaces (GUI). He also has extensive experience developing large, award-winning user-support systems.
At Gemcom Software International, Jerome's last employer, he helped to lead improving the usability of large, legacy applications one step at a time by training its developers. To do this, he started educating them about usability theory and techniques, and how to apply those techniques to their projects. The result? Gemcom Software started to change its corporate culture to embrace usability.

Jonathan Mark is the City of Vancouver's GIS Manager and is in the Information Technology Department. He has been in that position since 1990. In this role, he and his Team are responsible for the City's corporate GIS infrastructure (core software, hardware, and databases) as well as the VanMap implementation.
Jonathan's work with the City has also included responsibility for systems in the Health Department, Property Division, and Stores. Jonathan has presented many times at URISA, Autodesk University and other conferences.
Prior to joining the City in 1984, Jonathan taught in the Urban Land Economics Division of the Faculty of Commerce at UBC. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics in 1977.

June 19, 2007 - Municipal Software announced the addition of Werner Bahlke to the Executive Team as Vice President of Development.
Bahlke brings over 20 years of experience in software development management to the Company. In his most recent positions, he was Director of Operations at CMAEON, Vice President of Product Development for WBEM Solutions, Inc. and Software Engineering Director at Sun Microsystems, Inc.
At CMAEON, he oversaw all areas of operations and productivity, including administration, development, network operations, and customer service. He also helped implement a new three-tiered architecture for their .NET web-based software applications.
“We are delighted that Werner has joined the Company," said Iain McLean, Chief Executive Officer with Municipal Software, “He brings a winning track record of delivering projects on time and on budget as well as a wide range of experience in both traditional and agile development methodologies. Bahlke will lead the ongoing development of the CityView platform, the CityView PreBuiltsTM and Local Government ManagerTM our On Demand offering."
“At Municipal Software I will be able to leverage my years of technical and management experience," said Werner Bahlke, “And I look forward to leading their outstanding development team."
Bahlke replaces Stephen Curran who will be leaving Municipal Software to return to his previous employer, Avue Technologies. “Stephen has laid a solid foundation for Werner to build on," said Iain McLean, “and we are pleased to be able to welcome such an experienced leader to continue that work."
