Ross Greenwood is a consultant specializing in rock mechanics with SRK Canada's Mining and Geology Division. His undergraduate degree in geology was complemented by a Post Graduate Diploma in engineering geology, both completed at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. Ross has worked in mining and civil consulting in New Zealand, Australia, and Canada since the completion of his university education in 2003.
Ross has participated in geotechnical investigations in open pit iron ore environments throughout Western Australia, and served as site engineering geologist during the construction of twin road-header driven tunnels in Sydney, New South Wales.
Since joining SRK in 2006 he has focused on rock mechanics, participating in numerous rock mass characterization programs, geotechnical data analyses, underground support review and design, and more recently numerical modeling.

Tim has been involved in the design and development of software tools throughout his career. His broad experience has included design, development and implementation of database systems, simulation models, statistical estimation tools, expert systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based software, and data exploration tools.
For a number of years, while working with ESSA and Nobility Software Systems Inc., this work focused on the development of the Calyx family of software that uses an expert system combined with GIS to produce tools for environmental impact assessment and land management.
Other software designed include systems for the environmental management of training ranges for the Australian and Canadian armed forces and an advanced database system for the tracking and management of environmental impact assessment reviews in Vietnam and Thailand.
Over the last eight years, Tim has coordinated a research project funded by Emergency Preparedness Canada (now PSEPC) that is developing systems to assist in planning for major natural disasters resulting from earthquakes, floods, landslides, and tornadoes.
This collection of tools (called NHEMATIS), is a hybrid of GIS, expert systems, and models and allows the user to rapidly explore various scenarios and determine levels of damage to buildings and facilities, injuries and death, and numbers of people likely to require shelter. Tim has produced a number of spatial models (EM-Tools) that will be integrated into the EmerGeo mapping application.
Tim is the Chief Technology Officer and lead developer for the EmerGeo system.

Sam has a strong practical foundation in implementing a wide variety of geo-spatial applications, tools and data by providing dozens of successful desktop and internet GIS solutions to public- and private-sector clients. He honed his spatial data modeling and geo-statistical analysis skills through post-graduate study and research, and project work for Health Canada and the BC Ministry of Environment.
Sam has lead large-scale data-integration projects by providing expert-level design, data-modeling and technology recommendations for the United States Army, Statistics Canada and Elections BC.
Through innovative decision-making and implementation of Quality Assurance processes, Sam was instrumental in the development of the network data-sets that underpin 911 emergency dispatch services and other essential programs required by public safety agencies.
Sam works closely with EmerGeo's customers to ensure our products are being utilized for maximum benefit to your organization.
He provides installation, training and technical support services. Sam is also responsible for gathering customers' requirements and tailoring the software, integrating EmerGeo into customers' existing IT and GIS environments, and feeding new software enhancements to EmerGeo's development team.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Honours) and completed Graduate Studies in Geography at the University of Victoria. He has also worked as an instructor, programmer and senior analyst over the past seven years.

Mike brings over 20 years experience in the design, implementation and marketing of emergency management and major event security planning systems in government and industry.

March 14, 2007 - Galdos announced today that they recruited Bill Macdonald to head up the company's engineering and product development group. Mr. Macdonald brings over thirty years of leadership and technical experience to his role.
Prior to joining Galdos, Bill held management positions at numerous Vancouver-based technology companies, including Macdonald Dettwiler and /Offshore Systems Ltd./OSI Geospatial Ltd. Most recently, Mr. Macdonald was Director of Operations for their Offshore Systems business unit that supplied navigation and charting systems to international navies and major shipping organizations. There, he was responsible for project management, system engineering, production and service.

He added, "His customer focus and experience in bidding and managing large scale projects will help assure Galdos develops the systems and infrastructure necessary to support our growing business.

Dr. David Burggraf, Vice President, brings a background as a geospatial information architect with over 16 years of experience in semantic, mathematical, and spatial object modeling to his role at Galdos Systems.
Prior to joining Galdos, David obtained his PhD in the Mathematics Department at the University of British Columbia. David is currently an Adjunct Professor of Computing Science at Simon Fraser University and is responsible for academic outreach at Galdos.
David also represents Galdos at international standards organizations and is an active participant in standards working groups and test bed initiatives.

Shaukat Jiwa, President, brings over 25 years experience in managing information technology and telecommunications companies to his role. Prior to joining Galdos, Shaukat was instrumental in moving a major British Columbia municipality to a premier technology infrastructure.
Shaukat led the Smart Choices proposal that positioned the city to become a world leader in the integration of information and communications technologies into community life.
Shaukat also spent several years as a consultant with Price Waterhouse and Associates, before joining Macdonald Dettwiler and spending 12 years in progressively responsible roles, rising to Director of Management Information Systems.

Ron Lake, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, brings over 30 years of experience in advanced software technologies, advanced databases, and spatial information systems to his role as the leader of Galdos Systems.
A visionary figure in the geospatial industry, Ron is a founding member of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), and is best known as the creator of Geography Markup Language (GML), an ISO and Open GIS data standard.
Ron was presented the Gardel's award in 2002 by the OGC for his work in creating GML and promoting its standardization on a global level.
Prior to founding Galdos, Ron spent three years at Laser Management International as a Vice President of Engineering, and 10 years at Macdonald Dettwiler as a Principal Engineer.
