Domingo A. de Torres, the VP of Sales from Greentail has been marketing innovative green solutions to the Food/ Grocery industry for over 20 years.
He got the idea from hearing complaints from his clients regarding the high costs of waste disposal and the increasing awareness of environmental concerns. They repeatedly spoke about their annoyance regarding the smell, labour, rat/bug infestation, safety hazard for the staff, and increasing cost of hauling and tippage fees that waste generate.
Domingo took the initiative and began to research for a better solution in Japan and S. Korea since none existed in N. America. In 2007, deTorres heard through his network that the first food waste digester in N. America was installed in a Roche Bros. Supermarket in Boston. He immediately flew out to see it in action.
This was the solution he has been searching for. Simply the first self contained high speed, aerobic food waste digesting system designed to fit in any food processing facility, commercial kitchen and supermarket.
Domingo was excited about this innovative technology and how It will save his customers money while creating a positive environmental impact.

Florian Guhr received an Engineering degree from the University of Applied Science in Esslingen, Germany and the University of Toulon, France. After finishing his degree, he worked for more than 2 years in the automotive sector in Asia with Continental AG and Bosch Japan KK as a Test Engineer.
Once he finished his MBA in Canada, Florian joined GTA Canada where he analyzes the Clean Tech sector and is an expert on bioenergy studies, government funding, and worldwide policies.
He worked with BC Hydro on Power Call Applications, as well as on Innovative Clean Energy (ICE) Funds Applications. He also worked with the National Research Council (NRC) Canada on a concept for a new Clean Technology Center. In his spare time, Florian enjoys sailing, biking, skiing, and exploring the great outdoors.

Dr. Toby Astill received a Ph.D. in fuel cell electrochemistry from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Victoria in Victoria, Canada.
His Ph.D. research was predominantly based around proton exchange membrane fuel cell technology and its application in transport.
Once he finished his degree, he worked for 2 years in the fuel cell and clean technology sector in Vancouver as a Marketing Officer for the National Research Council - Institute for Fuel Cell Innovation (NRC-IFCI).
During his time with NRC-IFCI he worked with technology partners in the fuel cell, alternative fuel vehicle (LNG, electric mobility), UAV and energy storage sectors to develop their technologies for operating efficiency in extreme environmental conditions.
Toby joins GTA Canada as a Renewable Energy Technology Development Manager and is responsible for analyzing, evaluating and proposing improvements to a novel BioEnergy and energy storage technology.
He has lived in England, South Africa and Canada. In his spare time Toby enjoys travelling, sailing, underwater hockey and automotive mechanics.

Axel Schaefer has been a partner with Green Tech Avenue (GTA) since 2008. Prior to starting GTA Consulting Inc. Canada, he worked in management consulting providing advice as project manager in technology and strategy analysis projects. Axel was involved in projects with BMW Bank, Siemens Deutschland, Hellmann Logistics, Sparkasse Leipzig.
From 2003 to 2004, Axel joined the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (CGCIC), Toronto, as the official representative of German trade and industry in Canada. At CGCIC he worked with a network of 120 German Chambers in 80 countries which are funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, Berlin.
Axel graduated with a Diploma of Commerce and Innovation Technology Management from the University of Regensburg in 2002. Through his involvement with Biopark Regensburg , Axel co-founded a technology firm funded by venture capital and supported other start-up projects in the Life Sciences sector.
Before coming to Canada, he lived in Germany and France. In his free time, he likes all kind of water sports, is a fan of ice hockey, and supporter of the European soccer club 1.FC Koeln.
