Sheila has been working in the career education and employment services field since 1995. After three years managing a career centre and doing career guidance with youth at King George Secondary School in downtown Vancouver, she was hired by UBC Career Services as a Recruitment Consultant. As a graduate from the Faculty of Arts in Psychology from UBC, who understands the value of a liberal arts background, Sheila was proud to join the Arts Co-op team in November of 2000.

Sophia comes from Mauritius, a small island in the Indian Ocean, where she worked at a Human Resources Consultancy firm as Recruitment Selection Manager. She is perfectly fluent in both of Canada's official languages. When she first moved here, she taught French.
Sophia is hard at work improving the Internship Program already: "We are revamping it to make it more appealing to international students, based on the feedback we have received. In the short term we also want to revamp the program for domestic students."

To develop, market and sell study related computer and electrical engineering and master of software systems work placement programs to new and existing local, national and international employers, professional associations and institutions.

Catherine Warren was hired to determine how industry and the Institute can best work together, and to establish Emily Carr as a leader for industry partnerships.
Catherine Warren has led advances in media, new media and science communications since 1985, establishing start-up ventures in the United States, the United Kingdom, Western Europe and Canada. She has published more than 25 books and magazine series for children and adults on science and computing, produced 15 award-winning Web sites and spearheaded creative corporate partnerships for companies such as Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft and BC Tel.
Also a pioneer in non-profit management, she directed Canada's first joint venture of three major cultural institutions, Vancouver Aquarium, Pacific Space Centre and Science World, which centered on new media innovation.
Teams under her direction have twice won Canada's Michael Smith Award for excellence in science promotion (1994 & 1996). A member of various federal and provincial boards, Catherine contributes to raising Canada's new media profile through advancing policy, building strategic alliances and public speaking.
Catherine has a masters degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where she broke the story of multimedia on location at M.I.T. Catherine currently heads the interactive subsidiary of the Blue Zone Group, Canada's leader in on-air and on-line convergence.
