He is a professional engineer with over 6 years of experience as a geological engineering consultant and 5 years of small business management experience in the area of GIS and database application development.

Since 1990 Jonathan Mark has been the GIS Manager for the City of Vancouver's Information Technology Department in the Corporate Services Group.

He and his Team are responsible for the City's corporate GIS infrastructure (core software, hardware, and databases) as well as the VanMap implementation. Prior to joining the City in 1984, Jonathan taught in the Urban Land Economics Division of the Faculty of Commerce at UBC. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics in 1977.

Ian Gill is president of Ecotrust Canada (Vancouver, B.C.) and a director of Ecotrust (Portland, Ore.), related non-profit organizations that promote the emergence of a conservation economy in the coastal temperate rainforests of North America.

Prior to founding Ecotrust Canada in November 1994, Ian was a writer-broadcaster with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. In his seven years as a television reporter with the CBC, Ian specialized in land-use, environment and resource issues. His television documentaries won numerous local and international awards.
