My goal is to get you well and then keep you well. Chiropractic and wellness care go hand in hand.
I chose chiropractic as a profession because I believe that the body itself is the most effective healing tool. The body is a very complicated but efficient machine. If we take care of it and maintain it we shall live a healthy life. Our brain controls all the functions of our body through our nervous system, therefore if we keep the nerves functioning properly the body will function properly as well.
Having a well aligned spine is the first and most crucial step in this process. I have been an advocate of natural healthcare because I prefer to solve the problem by getting to the source of the problem and not just masking the symptom. Chiropractic is a lifestyle which provides a path to optimal health.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University which provided a strong foundation for my graduate Chiropratic studies because it emphasized physiology and motion. I then attended Life Chiropractic College West, located in San Francisco, California.
My decision to attend this school was an easy one as the school's philosophy mirrored my beliefs with respect to getting to the source of one's problem. The variety of Chiropratic techniques, that I have learned at Life Chiropractic College West, allow me to apply a specific treatment to different individuals.
During my studies, I was amazed at the amount of time we spent taking and analyzing X-Rays. In hindsight, it makes sense as X-Rays are excellent as diagnostic tools to assess the condition of the spine. These two world class facilities gave me the tools to help people with chiropractic.
One of my instructors at Life Chiropratic West was lecturing one day and he said, "Remember, chiropractic is just one of the avenues needed to achieve wellness", he also said "Chiropractic is a lifestyle." This philosophy inspired me to open, not only a chiropractic clinic, but a wellness centre. The Holdom Chiropratic and Wellness Centre has different disciplines that all lead to getting a practice member to optimal wellness.
One can not just simply get a chiropractic adjustment and think they will stay healthy forever. One also has to consider their diet, excercise program, posture and their lifestyle in general. It is no coincidence that practice members which respond to Chiropractic treatment the best are the ones who consider the whole picture.
